Astralis have won ECS Season 2 Finals, defeating OpTic 2-0 in the grand final (Overpass 16-6, Train 16-11). The beginning of Overpass saw the finalists going back and forth with forcebuy wins, but Astralis came out on top of the shenanigans to go up 4-1. Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye's solo double in toilets and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's 1v3 on the B bombsite set up a solid CT half already, but the Danes weren't done with OpTic just yet. With Kjaerbye putting up two triples and another double in three of the last four rounds, Astralis gave OpTic no room for error after the sides switched at 14-1. The North American side delayed with the pistol round and the initial full buy, though gla1ve and company finished off Overpass at 16-6 with two B attacks, the first of which was a fake towards A.
Astralis started well on Train too with Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen clutching a 1v2 in the pistol round as CT for a 2-0 lead. From there on until the 10th round, the rounds were being traded all the time, with OpTic winning a couple of forcebuys while Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and Nicolai "device" Reedtz put up quad-kills in two other rounds. OpTic then broke the back-and-forth battle with three in a row for 6-5, but Astralis still secured a solid 9-6 half on the back of a straight-forward B defense and five kills from dupreeh in two of the last three rounds. A clean pistol round then went the way of device and company, who then survived a close anti-forcebuy and dispatched of the initial gunround for five rounds in a row and a 14-6 lead. OpTic began closing the gap with Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas's quad-kill from connector, while William "RUSH" Wierzba put up five kills over the next two gunrounds to reach 11 rounds. Astralis then opted for a quick B take for match point and triumphed after an A attack at 16-11. ECS Season 2 FinalsBest of 3![]() ![]()
